KVM vs OpenVZ
First of many things, our KVM plans fully support Docker however this isn't supported on our OpenVZ plans. KVM provides full virtualisation from the bottom to the top. Clients are able to run latest 3.x & custom kernels, docker, LUKS disk encryption with custom partitioning and full isolation from neighbours (other VMs on the node), custom operating systems including Windows as a result each virtual machine has private virtualised hardware including network card, disk and graphics adapter which is not possible on OpenVZ.
On the other hand, OpenVZ is ideal for most who are on a budget and do not have any advanced requirements. It is cheaper to run due to being less resource intensive as it is container-based and all VMs run off the host node kernel and so price is marginally lower whilst providing good performance at the same time.

All our KVM nodes consist of a minimum of Intel CPUs, 128GB RAM, 12 SSDs in RAID10 array. This gives great performance and reliability for all clients on the nodes.
With our KVM plans there are no restrictions or the need to manually enable kernel modules via the control panel/manual ticket request. You have full access to the kernel allowing you to load whatever you wish.
You can easily upgrade or downgrade between the plans we offer without having to wait around or submit ticket. Simply goto the client area and under my products/services you will see a option to upgrade/downgrade your service.
If you require DDoS protection we offer 20Gbps protection in Amsterdam & Los Angeles for additional +£3/mo per VPS (most providers charge per IP!). This includes protection servers and websites (Layer 4-7).
VPS Control Panel
All plans come with a basic control panel to manage your VPS. This allows you start/stop/reboot your server, reinstall with a clean OS, set rDNS for IPv4 & IPv6, view resource usage and graphs.
We do not provide by default a panel to manage websites, cPanel is available at additional cost. We will help assist install this or any other free control panel at no extra charge.

Our current UK KVM nodes are packed with 12 1TB SSDs in RAID10 array with the latest 12 GB/s RAID controller and powerful Dual E5-2690 (16 Core/32 Thread) CPUs with humongous 192GB ECC RAM. We just don't stop there, all nodes have redundant power and bonded 1Gbps networking.
Our upstream has dedicated protection appliances and we are able to offer DDoS protection with no routing changes, through this we are able to offer customers extremely low priced yet powerful DDoS protection with minimal to no major latency change. In the coming months this will be changed to inhouse protection using Corero appliances.
There is 20Gbps free protection included with additional up to 100Gbps available for £2.50/mo per IP. The addon is required also if you are attacked frequently and/or require always on/permanent mode.
